Home Occupations
Home occupations are vocational activities occurring in, and subordinate to, residential uses as laid out in Section 10-1-12 of the Land Use and Development Code (LUDC). Examples include:
- Home offices
- Businesses with few customers coming to the site
- Activities that do not detract from the residential character of the neighborhood
There is a $50 fee for most home occupation special use permit applications. In cases where clients would be coming to the home and/or in cases where businesses have multiple employees or the impacts are greater to the neighborhood, there will be an additional fee of $50. Business license requirements apply.
Both a Home Occupation Special Use Permit application and a Land Use Application will need to be completed and are available at the Planning Department in River City Hall, 1235 Camino del Rio.
