Public Works Department

Engineering Division:

This division is responsible for the design, development and inspection of the City's stormwater system, streets, water and wastewater systems and community parks and trails. 

  Public Works Development Standards:

Staff periodically updates the City's General specifications (Public Works Development Standards).  The Public Works Development Standards book is available for download.

Right-of-Way Permits:

Per City Code of Ordinances Chapter 21, Section 21-51, written permission is required for obstruction of any kind or nature or to dig or leave any excavation in the City's right-of-way.  The City's right-of-way consists of any part of any street, alley or sidewalk. Obstructing or digging in the public right-of-way without permission from the City is unlawful and subject to fines.  All person(s) wanting to obstruct or dig in the public right-of-way are required to complete a permit application and submit to the Public Works Department located at 1235 Camino del Rio.
