Records Request

If you would like to view City records within the City Clerk's Office:

1. Print and complete the Records Request Application.
2. Either fax your Request to 970-375-5098, mail or submit your Request to the City Clerk's Office at 949 E. 2nd Avenue
3. Please call 970-375-5010 to verify receipt of your faxed or mailed Records Request.


Fees are charged for obtaining copies of documents.  Contact the City Clerk's Office at 970-375-5010 for fee information.

Online Records

Through state grant funding and ongoing support from the City Manager's Office, the City Clerk's Office has provided digital access to many thousands of documents, some of which are available to the public.  City records that are available to view online include:

City Ordinances (more than 2,000 of them, from 1881 to present)
City Council Resolutions (more than 1,800 of them, from 1958 to present)
Agendas of more than 1,000 meetings of City Council, City boards and commissions, from 1978 to present
Minutes of over 8,000 meetings of City Council, City boards and commissions, from 1881 to present
Plans, reports and studies that were produced for the City, 1956-current

 

The City of Durango has adopted the Colorado Model Municipal Records Retention Schedule.
