Electronics recycling

The City of Durango hosts Electronics Recycling Events semi-annually, in Spring and Fall.

 


 

Spring Electronics Recycling Event:

May 18th and 19th 2012
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
City's Recycling Center, located at 710 Tech Center Drive

The Durango Recycling Center will be closed for normal operation on Friday, May 18th.  The Recycling Center drop-off location will remain open both days.

November 9th and 10th

ELECTRONICS RECYCLING FEES

Businesses and individuals with large quantities of electronics must schedule an appointment in advance for Friday drop-off by calling 970-375-5004.  Also, please bring a list of the electronic items that you are recycling; this will help save time at the event.

Electronics will not be accepted at the Recycling Center outside of the collection events.


Cathode ray tubes (CRT’s) and circuit boards found in computers and televisions contain significant amounts of lead, chromium, silver and many other toxic materials. Recycling electronics keeps hazardous materials out of our area landfills!

Responsibly Recycle Your Unwanted Electronics

Effective July 1, 2013, electronic devices will be ban from all state landfillsClick here for SB 12-133, the Electronics Recycling Jobs Act.

All types of computer components and televisions are accepted from residents, businesses, governments and schools. Businesses, governments and schools are required by state law to safely dispose of hazardous wastes. Cell phones are also accepted for recycling year-round at locations throughout the community.
